Boards, Commissions, and Committees
The City of Chico currently has six advisory bodies which are the Airport Commission, Architectural Review and Historical Preservation Board, Arts Commission, Bidwell Park and Playground Commission, Climate Action Commission, and Planning Commission.
Advisory bodies play an important role in City Government by assisting and advising the City Council in formulating and implementing policy. Advisory bodies also develop recommendations and present supporting information to the City Council.

The Climate Action Commission serves as an advisory body to the City Council on all matters related to climate action, adaption, and resiliency, including reducing greenhouse gas emissions consistent with State goals through preparation and maintenance of a Climate Action Plan.
